Martha M. McKennitt

Principal


Martha founded MMM Communications to pursue her passion for healthcare communications. With 30 years of experience, Martha has helped organizations build and sustain multi-faceted communications programs and vibrant cultures grounded in values. She has engaged with clients – leaders of Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility and Patient Advocacy – to support global companies of varying sizes and stages as a strategic advisor, leader and master of “getting it done.” Embracing a flexible, solutions-driven and detailed approach, Martha develops and implements communications plans that amplify messages, drive employee engagement, leverage channels and optimize impact. She believes that the best communications plans should:

  • Serve and speak to multiple stakeholders

  • Be strategic as well as tactical, and coordinated seamlessly

  • Amplify values and brand

  • Cultivate organizational culture and engage employees 

Experience and Education

Prior to founding MMM Communications, Martha’s experience spanned a variety of healthcare organizations, including Boston Children’s Hospital, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and several divisions of Abbott, including Abbott Corporate Communications, Abbott Diabetes Care and TAP Pharmaceuticals. She also recently led Internal Communications at Blueprint Medicines, a rapidly growing biotech focused on precision medicine. Among various roles and responsibilities, Martha has established new communication functions for business divisions, provided strategic counsel to executives for business and crisis communications, managed public relations agencies for product and internal communications, produced special internal and external events, and participated as a key player on acquisition integration teams.  

Martha holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Human Resources Management from Carroll School of Management at Boston College, and a Master of Arts degree in Management Communication and Public Relations from Emerson College.  Martha is currently a Board member at Concord Youth Theatre and has held other Board positions in her community.  Martha and her husband, Cameron, have four children and live in Concord, Massachusetts.
